This position includes 1 night shift and 1 mainly night shift, with the possibility of working day shifts as needed, operating on a 12-hour shift schedule.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse coordinates a variety of nursing care procedures for residents of various ages, requiring professional knowledge and consideration of specific resident conditions and treatments. This role involves participating in patient and family teaching and working cooperatively with other healthcare team members to maintain professional nursing standards in a long-term care environment. Clinical decisions are made independently, with accountability for all actions taken, and tasks may include delegating and supervising care team members.

Responsibilities

• Implement safe, therapeutic, and efficient care for patients with multisystem diseases.
• Administer age-specific medications and therapeutics accurately.
• Initiate and manage nursing care plans based on resident assessments.
• Document care plans and evaluate residents' progress towards health goals.
• Provide education to residents and their families regarding health conditions and care plans.
• Participate in ongoing evaluation of care effectiveness and adjust as necessary.
• Lead and support the nursing team in ensuring quality resident care.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• MUST HAVE ACTIVE Alaska nursing license to be considered.
• MUST PROVIDE 2 fingerprint cards upon acceptance.
• MUST HAVE flu vaccine.
