Shift: 7 PM - 7 AM (Night Shift, rotating through every 3rd weekend)

Job Description

The Orthopedic & Spine Specialty unit provides care for patients with orthopedic injuries, neurological conditions, and traumas. This fast-paced unit encompasses a range of acute care practices, utilizing advanced equipment such as traction, external fixators, halos, and continuous monitoring tools.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients on an orthopedic and spine unit.
• Conduct wound care and dressing changes as needed.
• Monitor patient status using advanced telemetry and pulse oximetry.
• Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams, including physical and occupational therapy.
• Utilize the Mobile Heartbeat application for communication and patient care updates.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Acute care hospital experience (Med/surg or Tele type units)
• Kansas RN License
• BLS certification required
• NIH certification preferred
