Night 4x12-Hour Intermediate Care Nurse

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Shift: Night 4x12 hours (18:30 - 07:00). Option of 36 or 48 hours per week, with a minimum of 6 weekend shifts required.

Job Description

The Intermediate Care Nurse will provide patient care in a medical IMC unit, managing a variety of patients with medical and neuro diagnoses. The unit operates on a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio, and nurses will float to all PCU units as needed.

Responsibilities

• Deliver direct patient care to patients with conditions such as gastrointestinal bleeding, pneumonia, sepsis, and respiratory diseases.
• Monitor and manage neuro and stroke patients effectively.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including hospitalist services, physical therapy, respiratory services, and more.
• Utilize Epic for patient charting and documentation.
• Provide education and support to patients and their families.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 1+ years of experience in an intermediate care or similar nursing role.
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications required; NIHSS certification is preferred.
• Experience with Epic charting system is mandatory.
• A valid New Mexico or Compact RN license is required at the time of submission.
• Travel experience is preferred, along with prior charge experience if applicable.
