Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) is tasked with managing patients who require a higher level of care and monitoring. This role includes responsibilities for patient assessment, development of care plans, and implementation of treatment protocols in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in the PCU.
• Monitor and assess patient conditions, administering appropriate interventions when necessary.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to optimize patient outcomes.
• Educate patients and families about treatment plans and hospital procedures.
• Manage cardiac drips and other specialty medications as prescribed.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) required; ICU experience preferred.
• Current certifications: AHA BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS (the latter to be obtained prior to start).
• Active nursing license in the state of Florida; compact licenses accepted for certain criteria.
• Epic Charting experience is a must (level 3 or 4 proficiency).
• Experience with cardiac drips is required.
