Registered Nurse - Emergency Room

Night shift: 07:00 PM to 07:30 AM, 12-hour shifts.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse in the Emergency Room is responsible for delivering safe patient care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. This role involves direct patient care and guiding patient/family education while maintaining nursing standards in the Emergency Department. The RN communicates with physicians about changes in patient conditions and responds promptly to treatment needs while adhering to EMTALA regulations.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in the Emergency Room.
• Coordinate with healthcare team members to manage patient care efficiently.
• Guide and educate patients and families on health management.
• Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality at all times.
• Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations including EMTALA.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current and valid state RN License.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications (AHA or Red Cross).
• Minimum of 1 year of experience as an RN in an acute care hospital, specifically in the Emergency Room.
• Behavioral Violence Prevention (BVP) certificate.
• COVID vaccination preferred.
• Experience with Meditech EMR.
