RN Emergency Room - Per Diem

This position offers a 12-hour day shift from 07:00 AM to 07:30 PM.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Emergency Room is responsible for delivering safe and effective patient care utilizing the nursing process, which includes assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. This role requires direct patient care within the defined scope of nursing practice, while also guiding patients, families, and other nursing personnel.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in the Emergency Department.
• Communicate changes in patients' clinical conditions to physicians, including diagnostic results and symptoms.
• Respond quickly and accurately to changes in patient conditions and treatment responses.
• Ensure compliance with EMTALA regulations and proper reporting of abuse.
• Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality at all times.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current and valid state RN License.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications from AHA or Red Cross.
• Minimum of 1 year experience as a staff nurse in an acute care or E.R. setting.
• Behavioral Violence Prevention (BVP) certificate.
• COVID-19 vaccination preferred.
• Experience with Meditech EMR.
