Registered Nurse - ICU

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Night shift from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM (block scheduling is not promised or guaranteed).

Job Description

The ICU Registered Nurse will provide high-quality nursing care to critically ill patients in the Intensive Care Unit. This position requires expertise in various patient diagnoses, including but not limited to strokes, sepsis, respiratory failure, and post-operative care.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and assess patient conditions in the ICU setting.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Utilize specialized equipment, including IABP, CRRT (PRISMA or NxStage), and ICP monitoring.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive care.
• Educate patients and families on care and disease processes.
• Participate in floating to other units as required, excluding Behavioral and ER unless necessary.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• 2+ years of experience in ICU settings (ICU, SICU, CTICU, Trauma ICU, MS ICU, or Neuro ICU).
• Travel experience required.
• 2 recent ICU Charge/Manager RN references.
• Current AHA ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certification.
• Active NY RN License and verification from NURSYS report required.
• Experience with CRRT and Prismaflex is essential.
• Heart experience is highly preferred.

Unit Specifics

• Total of 42 ICU beds (Neuro/Med: 22, CTICU: 6, Surg/Trauma: 14).
• Common patient diagnoses include neuro/med conditions, cardiovascular surgeries, and trauma cases.
